According to the March export performance report published by İTHİB, Türkiye’s textile and raw materials industry exports increased by 0.2 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 2 billion 898 million USD. In March 2025, the industry reached an export figure of 1 billion USD with a 1.8 percent increase, while a 10.5 percent increase was seen compared to the previous month. In the same period, Türkiye’s general exports increased by 3.2 percent to 23.3 billion USD, while the industry’s share in the country’s general exports was 4.4 percent. During this period, industrial product exports increased by 1.7 percent and reached 16.5 billion USD. In the first quarter of the year, Asia and Oceania countries, as well as Egypt, stood out as places where the industry recorded high increases.
Türkiye recorded the biggest increase in textile exports in Asia and Oceania countries
In the January-March period of 2025, the highest textile and raw material exports were again made to EU countries. Exports to EU countries decreased by 0.7% compared to the same period of 2024, decreasing to 1 billion 189 million USD. In the January-March period of 2025, the second group of countries to which the industry exported the most were African countries. Exports to these countries increased by 21.4% during this period, reaching 372 million USD. Asia and Oceania, which ranked third, were the markets with the highest increase. Exports to these countries in the first quarter of the year increased by 27.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 250 million USD.
When we look at exports in terms of quantity in the same period, it was seen that exports increased by 6.5% and reached 750 thousand tons. In this period, exports to EU countries increased by 0.7% and reached 267 thousand tons. Again, the biggest increase in quantity was recorded in Asia and Oceania countries, which ranked second. During this period, Asia and Oceania countries, which had a share of 16% and exported 120 thousand tons, stood out with a 50.6% increase compared to the first quarter of 2024. Here, the increase in March 2025 compared to March of last year was 123.1%.

In the first quarter of the year, Italy ranked first, as usual, in Türkiye’s textile and raw material exports. During this period, textile and raw material exports to Italy decreased by 1.4% and amounted to approximately 223 million USD. The USA was the second country to which the most textile and raw material exports were made during this period. The industry’s exports to the USA decreased by 0.2% and regressed to 177 million USD. Germany ranked third with a 3.3% decrease. During this period, the industry’s exports to Germany amounted to 174 million USD. Egypt ranked fifth and was the country with the highest increase at 57.5%. A total of 141 million USD worth of exports were made to the country during this period.
Textile fabric exports to Egypt increased by 84.6%, reaching 34 million USD
When the exports of the Turkish textile and raw materials industry were examined in terms of product groups in the January-March period of 2025, it was seen that the most important product group was the technical textile product group with an increase of 6% and 582 million USD. In the same period, the second most exported product group, woven fabric, decreased by 4% and exports were realized at 578 million USD. Egypt was also the country where the industry increased its exports the most in woven fabric. During this period, woven fabric exports to Egypt increased by 84.6% and were recorded as 34 million USD. Yarn, which ranked third, increased by 0.7% in the same period and was realized at approximately 564.6 million USD.
