German textile machinery manufacturer Truetzschler stands out in the market with the new advantages offered by the pre-cleaner CL-X. Responding to the demand of textile manufacturers for low energy consumption, CL-X not only contributes to environmentally friendly production, but also provides spinning mills with a competitive advantage in the face of rising energy prices.
Robert Többen, Head of Mechanical Engineering at Truetzschler, said that optimizing the fibre airflows was their main focus during the development process. Stating that they have made a breakthrough in this field, Többen explained that they have found a solution that provides lower power consumption in the opening rolls by forcing the air flow over two rolls. Többen also shared the following detail about the name of the machine; “The fact that this flow is in the form of a spiral is also reflected in the name CL-X: The ‘X’ comes from the Greek word for spiral, Helix.”.
Less exhaust air, less energy with the Truetzschler CL-X
In addition to the optimized flow, the Truetzschler CL-X saves up to 30% energy, allowing only excess air to be removed, rather than all, with an integrated air separator. In this way, the new pre-cleaner, which contributes to the reduction of transport air, provides less exhaust air and therefore less energy consumption.
By gently and reliably removing coarse contaminants such as leaf debris, stalks or seeds from cotton with minimal loss of good fibre, the CL-X increases productivity; It allows a high quality end product to be obtained before the cotton is further processed in mixers and fine cleaners.
Twice the production rate, three times better cleaning results
The production rate of the CL-X corresponds to the total production rate achieved by the two CL-P models, with a maximum of 1,600 kilograms per hour. Thus, customers get the flexibility to work at high or low productivity rates with a single machine.
Another important advantage of the new CL-X is its superior cleaning results. Trials with US cotton at a Turkish customer show almost three times better cleaning efficiency compared to the CL-P. In addition, the improved grid geometry allows for better separation and gentler tuft handling, while a 2.60 m long cleaning section offers maximum opening and cleaning tuft.
High sensitivity to impurities
The CL-X pre-cleaner enables automatic lot change of up to three lots with synchronized lot management. While the lot management system provides direct, automatic coordination with the Bale Opener BO-P, the speeds of the opening rollers and the position of the grid bars, and thus the intensity of the cleaning, are automatically adjusted according to the changing material fed (lot).
The new pre-cleaner also offers new and improved grid geometry for better separation and gentle tuft treatment. Due to the stepless and individual adjustments of grid devices for each opening roller, the machine can react to a wide variety of impurities. The 10% higher speed of the second opening roller causes different speeds along the grids, thereby separating different sizes of waste.
The WASTECONTROL waste sensor integrated into the CL-X ensures reliable separation of waste during production, preventing unnecessary loss of valuable good fibres. With just a few clicks, the operator can easily apply an automatic recommendation for the ideal setting via the machine’s display.
