Attending to ITMA ASIA 2016 with new weaving solutions, Toyota received acclaim from the visitors with its systems merging versatility, flexibility and energy saving.
Providing solutions in various sectors including automotive, materials handling equipment and textile machinery, the Japanese leading brand TOYOTA INDUSTRIES CORPORATION (TICO) continues textile innovations. Presenting these innovations in Hall 3, booth B16 at ITMA ASIA that brought textile world together in Shanghai between the dates of 21-25 October, the company gained attention with its weaving solutions. Exhibiting its influential E-shed system as well, the firm put forward energy saving as well as maximum flexibility and quality. 4 air-jet weaving machines, 1 water-jet weaving machine and 1 ring spinning machine were presented in Toyota’s booth. 2 handy fork lift trucks were also included in the booth for textile facilities.
The firm demonstrated its air-jet machine JAT810 equipped with E-shed shedding motion that brings advantage to the users with low air consumption. The machine has many innovations generated from the successful partnership between TICO and USTER Technologies, including high quality and smart low air system. TICO also enriched its application areas and varieties thanks to E-shed servo shedding process.
water-jet System LWT810 Presented For The First Time
In addition to air-jet system, Toyota chose ITMA ASIA to present its water-jet loom LWT810 to the global market for the first time. With this system defined as a ‘milestone’ in water-jet technology in terms of operability support, quality management and performance, the company answers optimisation and speed demands raising not only in Asia but also in global scale. Ring spinning frame RX300 and the fancy ‘MOSAIC YARN’ produced by this frame were another developments that received interest in the booth.
Stating the increasing demand for machines that offer higher productivity and lower energy, waste and spare part consumption,Toyota Textile Machinery Division, Sales Department Planning & Administration Group Manager Noriharu Teraoka declared the change of customers’ viewpoints with these words; “Customers are becoming aware of the fact that they can only survive in the future, when they shift their focus away from low cost / high volume concepts towards added value solutions.”
Talking about the company’s strategy in European and Asian markets, Teraoka expressed that Toyota is always applying the same quality, innovation and service standards in all markets equally. Explaining that basic product design and service structure remain the same everywhere, Teraoka said that only few specific addaptations and modifications are applied, according to local market requirements.
‘We’re Improving Our Service System in Turkey’
Expressing the importance of Turkish market for Toyota and their strategies for this market, Noriharu Teraoka suggested that Turkey is one of the major textile markets in the world not only in relation with its production volume, but also in terms of quality, creativity and local know-how. Teraoka continued; “A few years ago, Toyota started a new aproach in order to conquer this important and growing market.”
Revealing that as a result of this attempt, company became an air-jet technology leader in Turkey now, Teraoka added that they are focused on preserving and underpinning this position even more in the future. Stating that they continually work on improving the local service network in Turkey, Teraoka summarized these improvements as such; “In order to improve the quality of our service; we hire new, higly qualified people, optimize the spare part supply chain and establish direct and uncomplicated communication lines with customers.”
Highlighting the fact that the need for high technology and high quality of Turkish textilers whose main market is Europe, increased, Teraoka stated that textile producers’ remaining competitive in the market depends on their performance in terms of creativity, quality and also “time to market”. Tearoka also added that with R&D, Information Technology and service concepts projects, Toyota aims to develop new technologies for their customers be one step ahead in the market.
