One of the main topics of the Textilegence March April 2025 issue was the new US tariffs that directly affect all global economic actors. In our new issue, we share with our readers the statements of officials and expert opinions on what the new tariffs mean for Turkish textile and apparel sectors and what steps need to be taken in the coming period.

In addition to the new tariffs, other important developments in the textile industry are as follows: In the first quarter of 2025, Türkiye experienced the biggest increase in textile exports in Egypt. KARL MAYER wins trademark dispute case in Türkiye. Global textile industry maintains positive expectations for the 4th quarter of 2025. Mimaki, which makes innovations that create difference and added value in the printing industry, offers new opportunities to its users with the first UV DTF solution UJV300DTF-75. BB Engineering’s new COBRA filter increases efficiency. Köksan chose Oerlikon Barmag for its polyester investment in China. The news about the innovations brought to the sector by Durak Tekstil, which is preparing to participate in the Interzum, is in our Textilegence March April 2025 issue.

In the Green Times pages of the new issue, this time we will focus on social sustainability and plastic pollution.

We talked to Associate Professor Dr. Hakan Karaosman from Cardiff University about what exactly social sustainability means and why it is still not fully understood.

We asked Prof. Sedat Gündoğdu from Çukurova University, Faculty of Fisheries, Department of Basic Sciences about plastic pollution. We sought answers as to why plastic is a threat to human and environmental health, why we continue to produce and use plastics, and whether plastic recycling is an effective method of combating plastic pollution.

In today’s complex economic and social structure, concrete examples that show that there is still something that can be done for circularity give hope. We listened to the stories of Fazla, one of the best examples of this in Türkiye, from Türkiye to Spain, from Koray Koçer, Marketing and Commercial Lead of Fazla.

In our Green Times pages, we also discussed how green hydrogen can become ‘polluting’ during the production and distribution stages and what to pay attention to in this regard. You can find our issues here.
