Texhibition Istanbul Fabric and Textile Accessories Fair, the first edition of which was held last March, will open its doors for the second time at Istanbul Expo Center on September 21-23, 2022. More than 300 domestic manufacturers will meet with qualified buyers from European Union countries, the United Kingdom, the US, North Africa and the Middle East at the fair organized with the cooperation of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). Designers will have the opportunity to come together with the participants at Texhibition Istanbul, where all components of the apparel industry, especially fabric types and accessories, and sectoral trends will be presented to professional visitors. The fair is expected to contribute approximately 1 billion dollars to the textile industry’s end-of-year export target of 15 billion dollars.
“We set new targets for the sectors with strong fairs such as Texhibition Istanbul”
ITO President Şekib Avdagic, stating that they set new targets for the sectors with strong fairs such as Texhibition Istanbul, said: “Our fabric and textile industry will make our country one of the top 3 textile exporters in the world with the contribution of our inclusive fair understanding.” Expressing that it is pleasing to realize fairs that are very large and prepare and direct the sectors not to domestic competition but to foreign competition, Avdagiç disclosed: “In this context, we are now preparing for the second Texhibition Istanbul Fabric and Textile Accessories Fair together with ITHIB. Our fair is Türkiye’s first domestic and national fabric and textile accessories fair.”
“We will evolve Texhibition into a brand”
ITHIB President Ahmet Öksüz stated that as the textile sector, they focus on value-added exports and that they will contribute to the sector’s targets with the fair to be held for the second time this year. Öksüz continued his words as follows: “Texhibition Istanbul is one of our most important projects to better introduce both our industry and our country to the world. We will bring our companies together with global brands at the fair. We believe that it will contribute to us both in terms of increasing our design perception abroad and in terms of our sector exports.”
Relaying that they plan to make Texhibition Istanbul a brand fair by growing every year, Öksüz drew attention to the fact that they doubled the fair, which they held with 166 companies in March, in less than 6 months. Öksüz also added that they aim to contribute approximately 1 billion dollars to the year-end 15 billion dollars export target of the textile industry.
