Developing models that boosts flexibility and speed for circular knitting, Terrot displayed two of its machines during ITM 2016. The company also shared its lately developed Corizon® fabric with industry.
Terrot demonstrated two new circular knitting machines for Turkish textile players during ITM 2016 and was pleased with feedback. Emphasizing innovation in circular knitting, the company exhibited Terrot UCC572 and Pilotelli SL-4.T.A.7 models at its booth in Hall 7.
Terrot’s latest patented transfer technology for body mapping allows the production in fine gauge range up to E32, which is particularly of importance for creating sports apparel and accessories of perfect fit and functionality. Leading sportswear brand, Nike is convinced of this technology already. The market leader actively communicates the knitting process that can combine both single and double jersey to boost features like breathability, stretch and fit.
The electronic-jacquard double jersey Model UCC572 is the one the Nike collection was knitted with. Equipped with multi-color jacquard spacer technology, this model allows numerous options for products in different application areas, e.g. from underwear to outerwear or technical textiles.
Second exhibition model at the ITM 2016 was the Pilotelli machine SL-4 T.A.7. This single jersey machine stands for extremely reliable plating technology – especially in use of elastane, very low maintenance up to 10 times fewer and user-friendly operation. It is available in diameters from 26” to 40” and knits fabric gauges up to E40. The new, patented sinkerless technology ensures absolute uniform knitting structures without vertical lines. The machine was already sold to Turkish market, while it proved success by operating indigo yarn during the fair, which is hard to work with.
Demand Constantly Grows in Turkey
Terrot Managing Partner Andreas von Bismarck reported a constantly increasing demand for knitting technologies, and thereby they always present innovations to this market. “We exhibited two models with our experience in circular knitting technologies in ITM. Among popular models of ours in Turkey, there are 24 gauge electronic-jacquard double jersey Model UCC572 and single jersey Pilotelli SL-4 T.A.7 that is still under development. “Turkey turned to higher quality knitting fabrics in the recent years. We will continue to provide required technologies for this trend as Terrot,” he commented.
Competition is valid for all players in the market while innovation is highly important at this point. Bismarck mentioned, “You can never run away from competition, which is required. Otherwise, you get lazy.” Terrot focuses on innovations in field that see demand. “Innovations can’t be successful unless it reaches the market, which makes marketing quite important. In addition to innovations, we constantly support our customers and stand next to them after sales. We develop new knitting fabrics and models. Knitting fabrics have important advantages in daily and sport-active clothing. We explained this for many sportswear companies but Nike got it straight which helped them to have an advantageous innovation and a new product,” Bismarck added.
Competition Requires More Flexible and Innovative Products
Pointing to the fast changes in fashion, Andreas von Bismarck thinks “flexibility” is the key point here. Customers should produce something new almost every month due to market demand and they ask for short deliveries and fast machines. “It is an advantage for us to provide the technology that will meet market demand in the shortest time. Long waiting periods and high stocks would cause serious troubles. You should be very flexible and fast in production. No one would give you order if you deliver the machine in 8-9 months. We promise this flexibility and speed for our customers. We are developing our machines with this principle since the beginning,” Bismarck stated.
Meanwhile, Bismarck described their latest fabric technology Corizon® as unique in terms of quality. Regarding their fresh solution, he highlighted, “This fabric has high quality in terms of softness, lightness, opacity and smoothness which are all the most important factors for our customers. This fabric can be used in a wide range. We are willing to share this experience and knowledge with our customers.” Terrot displayed a small collection prepared with Corizon® during ITM Fair, while they have the only knitting technology in the world that can fully cover elastane.
“We aim to sell 400 machines until end 2016”
Andreas von Bismarck underlined their high expectations from Turkish market, voicing their goal to sell 400 machines as Terrot and Pilotelli until end 2016. Despite political uncertainties, Turkish textile manufacturers are determined to proceed with their business. “They proceed with their investments and always figure out to solve problems,” he commented.
Bismarck further added that they are supported by a technician from their German headquarter and technical support team of their distributor Erko Sinai in order to stay customer focused and boost machine performance.
