swissQprint, the UV printing technology specialist represented by Pigment Reklam in the Turkish printing and signage industry, is both gaining great acclaim in the global market with the solutions it has developed and winning the industry’s prestigious awards. Two of the prestigious EDP Awards distributed during the FESPA Global Print Expo 2023, the meeting point of the printing and advertising industry, were given to swissQprint products this year.
Many important technical criteria are taken into consideration in the prestigious awards given by the European Digital Press Association. swissQprint, winning these awards every year with its innovations, was awarded two EDP Awards with its Kudu flatbed printer with many new features and glass printing option.
Kudu stands out for its versatility and strength
swissQprint’s latest flatbed UV printer Kudu has won first place in the ‘Flatbed/hybrid printer larger than 250m2/h’ category at the EDP Awards. The jury’s verdict reads; “The printer addresses a very mature market where versatility is critical, driven by new applications and print materials.”
The only swissQprint model with 10 freely configurable colour channels, the Kudu is considered the most advanced wide-format printer on the market in its category. The printer also features an automatic feeding and maintenance system for white. With 30 high-resolution print heads, Kudu offers print service providers the opportunity to freely create colour palettes for different applications. In addition, it achieves a very superior performance with printing speeds of up to 304 m2 per hour.
Offering 1350 dpi maximum resolution with 3.2×2 m printing width, Kudu expands its application area with roll-to-roll option and double roll option. Kudu, capable of producing 3D effect prints with Droptix feature, enables printing on heat sensitive materials with LED curing technology.
Glass Option proved its worth with the EDP Award
swissQprint, developing versatile and advanced UV printing solutions, continues to strengthen its printers with different options for the demands of printing professionals for different applications. In recent years, glass printing has started to be preferred for high added value works. The swissQprint glass option, which also shows its success in the market, was deemed worthy of an award in the title of Glass/Ceramic Production in the Industrial Solutions category at the EDP Awards.
Expanding the range of applications for print service providers, the glass option is available on swissQprint’s Nyala, Impala and Oryx flatbed printers. The EDP jury commented on the award-winning solution: “swissQprint’s full-page printing option for pre-cut glass panels opens up new business opportunities. This solution enables new applications while protecting existing investments.” Accurate registration for multiple productions and protective paper that saves the user from cleaning the print bed make this a truly user-friendly solution.
The glass option features a pivoting alignment edge with five steplessly adjustable horizontal stops, each set according to the formats to be printed. The air-permeable protective paper allows the vacuum to do its job while retaining the ink. Instead of cleaning the vacuum table, the paper is simply advanced after each job. The machine is therefore clean and ready for the next job after each print. In addition to the mechanical alignment mechanism and protective paper features, swissQprint also offers an inkset optimised for glass printing. Print professionals thus have a complete glass printing system at their disposal.
The glass option can also be retrofitted to swissQprint machines, which double work efficiency with the tandem function. Long uninterrupted operation and flexibility for new applications are among the key features of swissQprint technologies.
