Saurer, one of the leading producers of spinning machines and components, has made an important contribution to textile education. Saurer donated a Schlafhorst AC X5 package winder machine to Ege University Textile Engineering Department commemorating the department’s 50th anniversary. Saurer and university officials as well as students showed great interest in the delivery ceremony held on May 15th.
Saurer Turkey Service Area and Technology Manager Dr. Cankut Taşkın informed the students about the “Recent Developments in Saurer Yarn and Bobbin Machines” at the seminar before the ceremony. Stating that he is happy to be at Ege University where he was both a student and a lecturer, Taşkın gave information about Saurer’s concept and solutions of E3 (Energy, Economy, and Ergonomics).
Speaking at the delivery ceremony of Schlafhorst AC X5 package winder machine, Taşkın underlined the importance of textile education. Taşkın said; “Our Company attaches great importance to the education of the students who will produce with our machines in the facilities that they will work in the near future and will be the managers later. As Saurer, we are in cooperation with universities, we support educationg by sharing current developments. The package winder machine we have provided is suitable for the efficient use of the students and different academic researches can be done with its many features.”

The Schlafhorst AC X5 package winder machine was installed on the campus where students practiced practical exercises. In this ceremony, taking place where many other machines were already installed, Ege University Textile Engineering Department Head Professor. Dr. Hüseyin Kadoğlu presented a plaque of appreciation to Cankut Taşkın. Kadoğlu said that Saurer firmly supported education since the foundation of the division, and said that they want their cooperation to continue for a longer time. Emphasizing the importance of students working with current technologies, Kadoğlu added that increasing the cooperation between the university and the industry would benefit the industry.
