ITMAStratasys to launch 3D textile printing innovation at ITMA 2023

3D printing technologies specialist Stratasys will demonstrate its advanced 3DFashion direct-to-textile 3D printing technology for the first time at ITMA 2023 on June 8-14. This solution combines advanced materials with the J850 TechStyle 3D printer, enabling textile and apparel manufacturers to re-imagine what is possible by bonding full colour, translucent, rigid and flexible materials directly onto textiles and garments.

This new technology has been designed to support profitable growth by leading to a range of new fashion applications. As a result, it empowers textile manufacturers working on behalf of high-end fashion designers and brands in key sectors such as automotive and haute couture to differentiate their service offering with unlimited creations and unparalleled flexibility.

Clothes get a โ€˜second lifeโ€™ with J850 TechStyle

3D printed materials include Stratasysโ€™ VeroEco Flex resins, which meet stringent industry RSL standards. The company will also preview two of its technologies under development at ITMA 2023.

The companyโ€™s concept direct-to-garment printing tool is designed to add new creativity to existing garments to make them last longer. This additional feature of the J850 TechStyle is set to enable 3D printing of a specific design directly onto garments mounted on a dedicated tool, such as trousers, shirts and jackets, to offer a โ€˜second lifeโ€™ or a new personalised style.

Stratasys will also demonstrate a 2D to 3D software tool that will enable J850 TechStyle printer users to easily adjust the height, colours and textures of 2D images and turn them into 3D printed items. During the show, visitors will witness the transformation of their 2D logos into a 3D image that can be printed on Stratasysโ€™ textile samples.

Stratasys will provide direct information on the Innovator Xchange Platform

Stratasys Senior Product Manager Ofer Libo will also give an informative presentation at ITMA as part of the showโ€™s official educational conference programme. This informative session, titled โ€˜Innovating Textile and Garments Manufacturing with Stratasys 3DFashion Direct-To-Textile 3D Printing Technologyโ€™, will take place on Monday 12 June at 15.35 hrs in Hall #3.

Marketing Manager Enrico Toson said: โ€œTextile printers are having to work harder than ever to push the boundaries of creativity and achieve true product differentiation, but we believe that 3D printing holds the key for such users to directly meet both of these needs.โ€

โ€œAs our showcase at ITMA will demonstrate, Stratasys is ushering in a new era of textile printing that puts 3D printing technology directly in the hands of this community, opening up unlimited possibilities for them to introduce entirely new attention-grabbing added-value applications within their offering and drive new revenue streams,โ€ concluded Toson.

Examples of the various 3D printed textile projects accessible to manufacturers will be on display on Stratasysโ€™ stand. These will include stunning dresses and handbags from leading designers, as well as vibrant footwear.
