Secret Champions of Export Reached Their Awards

Held for the first time this year with the collaboration of Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM) and Dünya Gazetesi, ‘Secret Champions of Export’ awards were given at Export Summit. Ministry of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi also attented to the award ceremony which was organized on the first day of Export Summit. At the ceremony the companies performed exportation in 13 categories 3 of which was exclusive were awarded. The awards were presented to the companies’ managers by Ministry of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi, Ministry of Finance Naci Ağbal, TİM President’s Agent Tahsin Öztiryaki and DÜNYA Süper Web Ofset AŞ Chairman of the Board Didem Demirkent.

Among these awards, The Most Environmentalist Champion Award was given to İpeker Tekstil, University-Industry Collaboration Award was given to Dakotek Teknik Tekstil and e-export Award was given to Kök-N Tasarım.

One of the most important textile manufacturers of Turkey, İpeker Tekstil received The  Most Environmentalist Award by TİM. Practicing waste reduction, ,decomposition of source, energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprint and producing with less raw material/water criteria at the highest level on the products it uses for exportation, the company exports its environmentalist product range to 52 countries. İpeker Tekstil reached for TİM award with this overachievement of export.

İpeker Tekstil Chairman of the Board İhsan İpeker said that 48% of their product range consists of products with high speed of biodegradation. İpeker continued thusly; “We are the first textile firm in Turkey who could achieve that. Biodegradation is a newly spoken term in the world. What is biodegradation? You buried it under the ground and it disappears without leaving any trace. 48% of fabrics we produce today is at this level.”

Technical Textile Implementation Brought Award

The product called Dakoteks receiving University-Industry collaboration award, is developed with the partnership of Professor Yüksel İkiz from Pamukkale University Textile Engineering Faculty and TÜBİTAK. Dakoteks Teknik Tekstiller was considered worthy of an award to develop and export the product that hinders the emergence of bedsores in patients. This project started by İsa Dal and Mustafa Koltuksuz in 2011, was supported by TÜBİTAK. The product’s development, beign practiced and reached to excellence took 4 years. In this process, some contributions were received from Spain, Switzerland and America. The product which has no equal in the world and began to be sold, prevents the bedsores becoming bigger and hinders the sores of inmate patients.

Creative Concepts Gained at e-trade

Printing on footwear and exporting 70% of the production, Kök-N Tasarım started business in 2010.The concept brand of the firm DOGO currently involves more 20 sub-brands and more than 5 thousand original designs. Meeting more than 5 million people in the world up today, Kök-N reaches its followers from 58 countries via over 150 sales points, its own shops, franchise shops and e-trade channels.
