Responsible Fashion: Industry is Ready

TGSD’s traditional annual event Istanbul Fashion Conference will bring together fashion, textile, retail and design world for the 11th time with the concept of Responsible Fashion.

11th Istanbul Fashion Conference hosted by Turkey Clothing Manufacturers’ Association (TGSD) will be held on 3-4 October with the participation of several brands. The event, which has been organized since 2008, will continue to hold the pulse of the fashion world with the concept of ‘Responsible Fashion’ at Çırağan Palace this year.

Concept: Responsible Fashion

Participants will meet through the concept of ‘Responsible Fashion’ and will be able to follow the developing trends of fashion closely. TGSD will also emphasize the responsibility for future generations, while emphasizing the importance of sustainability. The main topics of the conference include; changes in Turkey, past present and future, the transformation of the garment industry, sustainability, innovation, industry 4.0, garment and textile industry in economic conditions, trends and currents that shape the global markets.

On the first day of the conference; the industry’s most important decision-makers and professionals will share their experiences; and know-how in the sessions they will attend. The first session of the conference will begin with the opening remarks, moderated by Cüneyt Yavuz, CEO of Mavi Jeans. Ralph Lauren Executive Vice President of Global Supply Craig Dana; CEO of Newtimes Alex Angelchik, VF Corporation Senior Director of Product Innovation and Supply at Napafriji Bhavesh Naik; Chairman of the USA Fashion Industry Association Julia Hughes will continue the program; with their speeches about Global Supply.

On the second day of the conference; new business alliances will be signed with bilateral business talks (B2B) supported by the Ministry of Commerce. It is expected that this number will increase in the conference; where more than 1000 meetings have been made in the last years. Several buyers from abroad will meet domestic manufacturers in B2B negotiations.
