Improved knitting technique with Monarch

Monarch and Fukuhara drew intense interest in their booth by displaying various innovative changes. Matthew Brunton explained the types of changes they offer for the textile manufacturers. Regarding OD7-M2XC-A3.2RE model, Brunton stated that it uses up to 4 track cam setup on the cylinder letting the user knit Plain jersey, Pique, 2-thread fleece and Twill with improved E-Needle technology that gives the user improved needle life & energy savings.

Another highlighted model, OD7-M-SEC7BS, is 72 feeds single jersey electronic model which is now available with true 3-way selection at all feeds on the cylinder. Brunton detailed that it is a combination of the compact SS actuator and newly developed machine encoder that has given the possibility to produce a range of new super fine knits suitable for sportwear, mesh, and lingerie.

New developments on Monarch’s knitting machines increase flexibility

Matthew Brunton pointed out the versatility they provide with M-LEC7BS, which is 72 feed double jersey electronic model with true 3-way selection (Knit, Tuck, Welt) on the cylinder and a 2-race RDS (Rotary Drop System) setup on the dial. He disclosed: “This machine has proven to be well established within the Turkish and European markets with a lot of satisfied customers that enjoy the flexibility of the RDS system and its ease of use to create multiple structure types on the dial very quickly and efficiently without the need to remove any cam box sections or elements to change the structure. All work required on RDS system is done using a cam wrench tool provided with the machine which allows the user to make changes from the exterior of the cam box.  The machine is capable of knitting fabrics in both rib or interlock gating for sportswear, outerwear, and lingerie fabrics.”

Brunton indicated that they also have a brand-new high-production mattress ticking machine, the M-LEC7KSH, 84 feed Double jersey electronic jacquard model. Explaining a brand-new needle selection system that has significantly reduced the weight and height of the knitting head, he added that customers could see further energy savings, improved machine handling and increased productivity.

The latest MMS (Monarch Monitoring System) allows designers to develop fabrics digitally

Monarch showcased the latest MMS (Monarch Monitoring System) developments together with its exclusive partner BMS (Belgium Monitoring Systems). Evaluating that MMS monitors not only the knitting machines but also all production and logistics activities in the knitting mill, Matthew Brunton continued to explain the benefits: “The main highlight of the show was the new MMS development concept for fabric simulation that Monarch has been working on which will allow designers to develop fabrics digitally. The software simulates the design in 2.5D and creates the pattern data for the machine using the most appropriate stitch formation. The software will also the user to create fabric collections and make pre-selections prior to the production of the physical textile on the knitting machine through simulation. Through digitalisation, this will help to reduce fabric development cost and time spent on the knitting machine where enormous fabric waste occurs and will help reduce knitting errors within the design pattern structure before the fabric is even knitted.”

Brunton said that Monarch’s fine gauge technology also offers a solution for any customer and remarking that all machines are exclusively supplied with Fukuhara Needles, noting: “Our latest fine gauge M-LEC7BS and M-SEC7BS model both offer the Fukuhara patented SS actuator which can make true 3-way selections in Knit, Tuck, and Welt. Our latest innovation on offer is our new OD5B-M-7ED44 is a double jersey mechanical model that offers customers entry into Woven and Warp knitted segments in fine gauge as the machine can create knitted fabrics that have similar technical properties and appearances to Woven and Warp type fabrics.”

“Türkiye can equate to 50-60% of Monarch’s year-on-year machine sales”

Matthew Brunton affirmed that Monarch and Teksel Tekstil’s partnership is very critical to future success within the Turkish textile industry. Brunton noted that since Teksel Tekstil has an internal stock house within Türkiye and a strong relationship with customers, they enable Turkish customers to get quick deliveries for their knitting machines and have a sense of security that they can get the elements that they quickly need to keep their machines in production.

Brunton detailed the importance of the Turkish textile industry: “With the number of customers located in Türkiye which is rapidly increasing year on year due to Türkiye becoming a larger powerhouse within the top 10 largest global textile producers. Türkiye can equate to 50-60% of Monarch’s year-on-year machine sales. With this large customer base in Türkiye comes an even larger customer base for elements (Needles and Sinkers) to keep our customer’s knitting machines running.”
