Kornit Presto and Kornit Konnect Introduced to Textile Industry

Kornit Digital, which has a strong position in the digital textile printing world, participated in ITMA 2019 Barcelona with innovations. 120 thousand people from 147 countries visited the exhibition where the Kornit Digital stand turned into a show space. 4 new solutions were displayed with live demos that everyone could attend; Kornit Avalanche Poly Pro, Kornit Atlas, Kornit Storm HD, and Kornit Presto. In addition to these machines, the Kornit Konnect platform was also introduced. During the exhibition, 40 rolls of fabric were used for 70 printing applications, and through 21 live training events solutions have been explained to the visitors in detail. Kornit Digital achieved the success of being well prepared in the biggest event of the textile industry.

Sharon Donovich, Kornit Digital EMEA Regional Product Marketing Manager, spoke to Textilegence and highlighted the mega trends in the textile and fashion world. Donovich said; “Changing mega trends are forcing brands and retailers to connect directly with consumers and adapt their supply chains accordingly. In the era of social media, mega trends in the form of personal narrative, an e-commerce environment with unlimited choices and a strong sustainability imperative are driving these companies to digital textile printing. Our main mission as Kornit Digital; to become a preferred technology partner for the apparel and home decor industries and to contribute to the supply optimizations of our customers”.

Kornit Presto ushers a new era in printing

Kornit Presto was one of the prominent innovations in Kornit booth. Developed for direct fabric printing, Presto is the successor to Allegro. Sharon Donovich noted that Kornit Presto has overcome the challenge in the supply chain, adding that the model has an industrial design and advanced features.

Donovich informed that the Starfire 1024 printhead is used in Kornit Presto and that the system is perfect for home textile and fashion markets. Donovich continued as follows; “Presto eliminates the need for pre and post treatment of fabric and allows for high-quality printing on an extraordinarily broad variety of fabric types. Equipped with the Starfire 1024 printhead, Kornit Presto can print a maximum of 450 m2. It also uses the 100% water-free patented NeoPigmentTM process, and is the shortest process from file to finished product, making it the most environmentally friendly solution available for direct-to-fabric textile printing today”.

Emphasizing that the speed has doubled compared to the previous model; Donovich announced that the new Kornit Presto comes with pigment-based NeoPigment Robusto ink. Donovich; “Robusto delivers outstanding colour fastness with superior washing and friction results. In addition to the wide colour gamut, its short curing time increases print quality while reducing costs. We set new standards for industrial digital textile printing with Kornit Presto”.

Kornit Presto and Kornit Konnect Introduced to Textile Industry: The first step in the vision of digital eco system; Kornit Konnect

Another innovation Kornit Digital introduced to the textile industry at ITMA 2019 was the Kornit Konnect along with their digital eco system vision. Sharon Donovich said that Kornit Konnect is a cloud-based software analytics connectivity platform that provides data-driven information for better business management and results. Stating that the companies can monitor their production, obtain insight analysis and manage their fleets more effectively with this platform, Donovich said; “It makes it easier for businesses to learn more, react faster and perform better. This platform includes a fleet management control panel, data-driven benchmarking, actual production costs and cost-per-business structures”.

Kornit Atlas and Avalanche Poly Pro meet the textile industry

Sharon Donovich reminded that the Kornit Atlas and Avalanche Poly Pro systems were introduced to the industry earlier this year. Stating that hundreds of thousands of printed garments were produced with these machines after tens of installations worldwide, Donovich continued her words as follows;

“As an example of success in this field, we collaborated with Adidas at ITMA. During the exhibition, these two systems printed live on Adidas products. Adidas cooperates with Kornit as a key partner in digital decoration. They recently invested in Kornit Atlas and Avalanche Poly Pro solutions, expanding their capabilities in this area”.

Donovich; “We saw the awakening in the markets at ITMA”

Sharon Donovich explained that they met with textile manufacturers from many points of the global market at ITMA; and said that Pakistani and Indian visitors were also present as well as European textile manufacturers. Donovich informed that the solutions they introduced aroused interest in different markets; “We have received a lot of demand for Presto from markets; such as England and Latin America, where we have not worked intensively before. Avalanche Poly Pro definitely sells well in Germany, UK and Asia-Pacific markets. We saw the investment awakening in Europe, America and Asia-Pacific at the exhibition”.
