Kipaş Holding 100 Million Dollars Textile Investment

Kipaş Holding, which has opened a 100 million dollar yarn facility in Kahramanmaraş, continues its growth process with investments in all sectors. Another ongoing investment of the Holding is the 5 million dollars worth paper facility.

Kipaş Holding, one of Turkey’s leading textile manufacturers, was inaugurated with an investment of 100 million dollars plant in Kahramanmaraş. The opening ceremony of the R-1, R-3 and Open-End 3 facilities, attended by the holding and sector managers, attracted great attention. The facility opened by Kipaş at the Karacasu Karaziyaret will contribute to the increase in production capacity. 3 sectioned facility for the production of mixed, ring and open-end yarns, will provide employment for a thousand people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kipaş Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors Hanefi Öksüz reminded that they have started with 30 employees 35 years ago, and said that at the moment they carry this flag with 10 thousand employees. Öksüz said that Kipaş Holding operates in 8 sectors; “Now we have 8 companies among the top thousand companies in Turkey. 5 of them are among the top 500 companies. With our turnover of more than billion dollars, our target is larger turnovers, more employment and more production models.”

Hanefi Öksüz stated that they had an important role as industrialists for the future and development of the country’ and he indicated that big part of their investments were to Kahramanmaraş. Öksüz continued his words as follows: “However, due to the requirements of the industries we ventured, we made some investments outside our province. Our province has a priority for us in every possible investment realizable in Kahramanmaraş.”

Paper facility will have a 5 million dollars contribution

Referring to the investments in the Aegean Region, Öksüz explained that about 30% of the Batı Kipaş paper facility in Söke was completed. Öksüz underlined that this strategic investment was supported by the government as well and continued as follows;

“When this facility is completed, it will prevent an import of 300 million dollars of paper for our country and it will export 200 million dollars. In other words, this will be a facility that will contribute 500 million dollars to our current account deficit. Our paper plant costs about 550 million dollars. Since waste paper will be used in this facility, we saw an opportunity related to this in the Aegean Region and realized the investment there. We will produce specialty papers not manufactured in Turkey at this facility. For example, we will produce paper for pillboxes, coated and more luxurious papers. Our state-of-the-art facility will also be environmentally friendly.”

Authorized Economic Operator Certificate to Kipaş Holding

Kipaş Mensucat received the Authorized Economic Operator Certificate (YYS) given to the companies; that meet the criteria of certain security and sound financial structure by the Ministry of Commerce. Kipaş was entitled to receive this certificate with 1.5 years of work; acquired green pass from all customs in Turkey and Europe in general; and will be able to import products very quickly from abroad with no control. There are 300 companies in Turkey which have this certificate.
