Italian textile machinery manufacturers, one of the leading partners of the textile industry, are counting the days to meet their Turkish business partners at ITM 2022 on June 14-18. More than 110 Italian machinery manufacturers will have the chance to present their latest textile machines and technologies by coming together at the Istanbul Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress centre with the cooperation of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) as in the previous years. Italian textile machinery manufacturers, offering innovative technologies to the textile industry, aim to present efficient solutions to the increasing sustainability and digitalization needs of the Turkish market.
“Türkiye is the second-largest exporter of Italian textile machinery”
ACIMIT President Alessandro Zucchi underlined that Türkiye is the second-largest market in the world for Italian textile machinery manufacturers and stated that Italian manufacturers will make a significant contribution to the Turkish industry with the sustainable methods offered as well. Zucchi relayed that they are in intense preparation for ITM 2022 exhibition and made the following statements regarding the Turkish market; “269 million euros worth of textile machinery exports from Italy to Türkiye were made in 2021. The commercial cooperation of Türkiye and Italy in the textile sector goes back a long time. Our export figures to Türkiye have increased by approximately 9 percent each year in the last 5 years. I can say that most of the nearly 300 manufacturers in Italy export their machines to Türkiye. Türkiye is the second-largest market after China.”
‘Green’ Italian technologies will come to the fore at ITM 2022
ACIMIT Director Federico Pellegata underlined that Italian textile machinery manufacturers under the umbrella of ACIMIT also focus on economic and environmental sustainability and stated that they aim to offer solutions that will provide added value to Türkiye in this sense. Pellegata pointed out that sustainability has become an important competitive factor in the textile industry, and continued; “The Italian textile machinery industry is a world leader in terms of technologies offered. As ACIMIT, with our Sustainable Technology and Green Label initiatives, we also take concrete steps in water, chemical and energy consumption, and lead the world in solutions that provide the highest efficiency with lower costs. We think that the machines we have developed with the latest technology for sustainable production in line with the social needs of today and tomorrow will be met with interest in Türkiye.”
