Messe Frankfurt announced that due to the worsening pandemic conditions in Germany and related restrictions, the Heimtextil, which was planned for January 2022, was cancelled, like the trade fair in 2021, last December. Following this, they decided to organize Heimtextil as a one-time summer special edition in parallel with their technical textiles fair, Techtextil and their garment and flexible materials processing fair Texprocess on June 21-24, 2022 as a result of the positive vote from the home and contract textile industry, which is longing for a re-start of personal business meetings this year. Exhibitors and buyers will thus benefit from the valuable synergy effects between the three international trade fair formats, which 1,000 exhibitors have already registered for three weeks after its announcement.
Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologie Olaf Schmidt said; “We are delighted to see that within just a few weeks such a large number of exhibitors have already placed their bets on the Heimtextil Summer Special by announcing their participation. The very high level of international participation also underlines the global commitment of the home textiles sector”.
The focus of Heimtextil Summer Special will be retail and international volume businesses
The event will feature global solutions from 46 countries, including France, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the USA. Heimtextil Summer Special, which is expected to be a valuable and beneficial event for volume-oriented suppliers and buyers from Europe and overseas, will focus on international volume businesses as well as retail.
This summer, the Trend presentation in Hall 4.0 at the Messe Frankfurt fairground will provide valuable guidance for the future of the home textile industry and highlight the shift towards long-term thinking for a more sustainable industry. In addition, numerous textile designers from all over the world will present their collections at Heimtextil Summer Special. Consultancy and product offerings for the bedding trade will also be comprehensively highlighted at the Heimtextil Summer Special. The Heimtextil Conference ‘Sleep & More’ will serve as a contact point for representatives of the bedding trade, where they can look forward to a top-class program of lectures, discussion rounds and product presentations.
“The sector needs to meet face-to-face, Heimtextil will achieve that”
The players of the industry emphasized the importance of meeting face-to-face and stated that Heimtextil, one of the world’s leading international trade fairs in home and contract textiles, will offer an important opportunity. Aznar Textil Managing Director Eduardo Aznar said; “At Heimtextil you can communicate what makes you stand out as a company and establish new customer contacts. In the end, we are people who need to see each other, touch the fabrics and communicate face to face. For this, Heimtextil is the global place to be”.
Jover Group CEO Francisco Jover Pastor relayed that it is a good decision to reschedule Heimtextil to summer this year, stating; “We need a platform to present our new products to the market. The industry needs to see each other again, a personal relationship is important. We hope that the fair will mark the beginning of a return to normality”.
