Heimtextil, the international platform for contract textiles and textile design, will enable visitors to experience the latest trends of the season, textile sustainability, and enormous range of home textiles. With progressive theme setting and catchy stagings, Heimtextil to be held on 9-12 January 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany, aims to highlight the transformative textile innovations.
After last year’s focus on circular solutions, Heimtextil Trends 24/25 will emphasize not only aesthetic elements but also advances and modifications in textile composition under the heading ‘New Sensitivity’. Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies Olaf Schmidt detailed the features of the event as follows: “At the upcoming event, Heimtextil Trends will again show ways in which the transformation of the home textiles industry is continuing. They thus form the inspirational heart of our trade fair and translate global megatrends into textile visions.”
Heimtextil Trends will give an insight into future of the textile
Heimtextil Trends 24/25 will demonstrate the meaning of ‘New Sensitivity’ in terms of something concrete in the lifestyle industry and having a sensitive approach to design and products. Furthermore, the adoption of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) will be another important figure that stands out in Heimtextil Trends 24/25. Since AGI needs the mindset of New Sensitivity that helps simplify complexity, expand creativity, and find unseen solutions, also within the world of textiles, this concept will encourage sector to bring innovative solutions.
Founder of SPOTT trends & business Anja Bisgaard Gaede explained the concept of New Sensitivity as follows: “In this context, sensitivity means considering the impact on the environment when making a decision or creating a product. Understanding how natural ecosystems work and prioritising balance as the default are key.”
Heimtextil will draw attention by pointing out certain figures in the textile industry to catch up with the latest innovations. Accordingly, the event will highlight plant-based textiles made from plant crops or plant by-products, technological developments with technical solutions that transform textiles, and bio-engineered textiles designed to enhance biodegradation. Heimtextil 2024 will offer visitors creative practices and pioneering solutions by giving insights into the future of home and contract textiles in the form of workshops, lectures and other interactive formats.
