Meanwhile, at Egypt Stitch&Tex, the conferences Cairo Textile Week and ITEX Cairo, in their fifth edition, will highlight the latest technology in creating sustainable textiles and digital printing for sportswear and activewear.

Egypt Stitch & Tex—Textile Edition is set to take advantage of Egypt’s textile processing machinery market boom, which is projected to grow by a CAGR of 6.4% over the next three years. With the world’s largest textile factory opening in 2025 in Mahalla, Egypt’s production capacity will jump to 30 tons per day.Egypt’s textile industry is an important economic factor and has developed impressively in recent years. At Egypt Stitch&Tex, twelve percent of export earnings come from the textile industry. Egypt hosts Africa’s largest and most productive cotton and textile clusters.

According to a census by the CAPMAS statistics office, the number of establishments in Egypt’s textile sector exceeds 85,000. Egypt is geared to launch the world’s largest textile factory in El-Mahalla; the factory is estimated to have a daily production capacity of 30 tons. As part of its 2025 vision to rank the country as a regional textile hub, Egypt plans to establish a new integrated city for textile industries. The plan also involves establishing four new factories, modernizing old equipment in existing factories, and providing workers with training. Egypt Stitch&Tex is central to this vision. The textile industry accounts for 3.4% of the gross national product and employs 2.5 million people. Egypt’s textile processing machinery market is projected to grow at 6.4% annually during the coming 3 years. Foreign direct investment in the textile sector in Egypt led to the establishment of 452 new companies between January 2016 and April 2020. This development is highlighted at Egypt Stitch&Tex.
