Archroma, one of the important partners of textile industry with their colour and special chemicals, participated in ITMA 2019 with a concept that promises more sustainability, colour and performance. The company exhibited 5 new products and 24 system solutions in their stand and underlined that they are focused on sustainability in the solutions developed for the whole industry from fibre to finishing.

Offering products throughout the entire textile production chain, Archroma has a broad portfolio of dyes and chemicals to help textile manufacturers achieve optimized productivity and value creation in their markets. The products exhibited with the approach summarized as; ‘Archroma Way: safe, efficient, enhanced, it’s our nature’ included;

Denisol® Pure Indigo, the purest indigo with an aniline-free, synthetic and synthetic pre-reduced liquid indigo launched in the market last year, Appretan® NTR, a new nature-based binder for nonwovens, and Fadex® AS New, a new “super UV protector” for automotive & transportation textiles, both introduced in May 2019. Archroma also exhibited their new Diresul® Smartdenim Blue; an aniline-free, liquid pre-reduced sulphur blue specialty with a greenish blue cast close to indigo tone; which is used in the Indigo Reflection system.

Archroma presented 24 solution systems and 5 innovations in their booth at ITMA, and held “Innovation & Solutions Sessions” having lively and rich meetings with textile manufacturers. Reflecting the belief that the textile industry could turn into a more sustainable structure, Archroma showed what textile manufacturers can create, what values they can add and what they can achieve with each product and system. The application areas determined by the company for the product groups are listed as follows; Denim & casual wear, home & intimate textiles, fashion & formal wear, automotive & transportation, outdoor & active wear and work wear & uniforms.

Archroma focus is on sustainability and efficiency

Nuria Estape, Head of Marketing & Promotion of Archroma  division Brand & Performance Textile Specialties, commented to Textilegence, and said that they are pleased with the intense visitor interest. Estape stated that they have taken part in ITMA to show their targets and focal points in the textile area; “Basically we want to help our customers be safe and efficient and enhanced. This emphasis came to the fore in our stand concept. We have created an Archroma Way, where different products and applications are described. Even if applications and products change, the point that we provide safe, efficient and enhanced sustainable comprehensive solutions never changes”.

Nuria Estape emphasized that all of the new developments introduced by Archroma to the textile market have a sustainable approach. Estape said that this was a priority for Archroma for all products, and continued her words saying; “As part of the industry, we want to help our customers implement our products in the most efficient way to conserve resources. Because what we are introducing is not only a system and a product, but also it’s an application technology, a process. We observe this with our solutions for the whole production process from fibre to finishing. For example, we have system solutions for exhaust dyeing for knitted cellulosic fabrics. These solutions have the necessary safety, efficiency and enhancedrequirements for the production and the end customer. We offer a combination that really saves water and energy and gives less pollution rates in wastewater; while obtaining dark shades and good fastness”.

Estape pointed out that the products have the necessary documents and standards in terms of sustainability; especially Bluesign and ZDHC certificates. Noting that Archroma has certified key selection of their products from cradle to cradle; Estape reminded that they also have system solutions that help minimize wastewater pollution.

Denim market is growing rapidly and demand for sustainability is increasing

Disclosing that there is a great interest in denim and denim products in the textile and clothing industry; Nuria Estape said that Archroma has made significant improvements in this regard. Estape stated that they explained Indigo Reflection system; based on the new launch of Diresul® Smartdenim blue dye; in detail to the visitors at ITMA among other products and underlined that it is a smart solution for the denim industry; which saves up to 90% of water. Estape; “Today’s indigo dyestuffs do not have high affinity properties for fibres. Therefore, indigo wastewater is very colourful, attracts attention. Our Diresul® Smartdenim Blue dyestuff, which we developed as a solution to this; has higher affinity for cotton therefore it can be used in more efficiently dyeing process; it does not contain aniline which causes several environmental problems”.

Nuria Estape explained her views on the Turkish textile industry and said that especially the denim market is very developed; and that they work with important denim manufacturers from the Turkish market. Estape; “Along with Denisol® Pure Indigo, the new Diresul® Smartdenim Blue with sulphur properties will be a real solution for Turkish denim manufacturers. Turkish denim manufacturers who want to  position themselves as company leaders  will be able to achieve this with more sustainable features”.
