A new era in government support for companies in the service sector have started. With the Decision No. 2564 published in the Official Gazette, Decision No 2015/9 regarding the foreign exchange-earning service sectors was abolished and the target market based support system was introduced. The new decision includes cooperation associations located in Turkey and companies, establishments and organizations operating in foreign exchange-earning service sectors. The support decision and the work for the promotion and marketing, consultancy activities will be realized by the Ministry of Trade.

Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said that the works have been completed in order to support the brands in TURQUALITY®️ Support Program on the basis of target market. Pekcan said: “With the President’s Decision published in the Official Gazette, our brands in the service sector will be supported for 5 years, half a year in each new market. Supports for the development of the institutional infrastructure will be provided for 5 years”. Pekcan stated that this new support system, which has been put into practice, will prepare the ground for the brands to be permanent in these markets by showing presence in more markets; “In this way, the service revenues of our country will increase in a sustainable way and the contribution of the service sectors to the current account balance will continue in a positive way”.

Comprehensive and long-term support in market entry and market activities

The branding process of companies, institutions and organizations within the scope of TURQUALITY®️ Support Program; domestic and international branding efforts will be covered; by the Support and Price Stabilization Fund for all kinds of activities and organizations; for Turkish brands to enter and adhere to the market.

As cooperation organizations that receive support in overseas market studies; Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey Chambers and Stock Exchanges Union (TOBB) Foreign Economic Relations Board, exporters associations, chambers of commerce and / or industry chambers; industry associations, unions, councils and organizations are listed. Support will be provided for 80% for TIM and unions representing the industry alone; and up to 500 thousand USD per project per year; 80% for unions representing more than one sector and maximum 250 thousand USD per project per year.

Beneficiaries of the Brand Support Program; will receive 50% support per year for advertising, promotion and marketing expenses in target markets; approved by the Ministry, and a maximum of 400,000 USD annually. Firms’ spending on product and service registration in these target markets will also be supported at a rate of 50%; and a maximum of 50,000 USD per year. The companies will be provided with a maximum of 600 thousand US dollars per year; for rental and storage areas; and a maximum of 300 thousand US dollars per year for architectural and decoration works of the rented place.

The companies will receive a maximum of 200 thousand US dollars per year for the taxes, duties, fees and consultancy works; necessary for the opening of stores and the places. The support to be provided for foreign units to obtain environmental regulations; and necessary quality, hygiene and environmental certificates is 50 thousand USD.
