Camp Tekstil, one of the important manufacturers of the Turkish textile industry, has signed a cooperation and investment agreement with South Korean industry giant Kolon Industries. According to the agreement Kolon Industries will beinvesting in Turkey as well as develop common business in other countries with Camp Tekstil. The signing ceremony was held at Camp Tekstil’s headquarters in Istanbul with the participation of Camp Tekstil Chairman of the Board Erhan Şentürk and Kolon Industries Board members and senior officials.
Statement made by Camp Tekstil noted that the agreement confirms the confidence of Kolon Industries, which have 10 billion dollars of turnover, to Turkey and Turkish companies. Under this agreement, Kolon will both supply products from Camp and both at the same time making investments in Turkey will act with Camp Tekstil in third countries.
Camp Tekstil will export design to the world
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Erhan Şentürk reminded that this business partnerships with Kolon Industries started in 2018. Underlining that the cooperation and business volume continues to increase day by day, Şentürk continued his words as follows; “We are producing premium men’s and women’s sportswear, golf clothing, denim apparel of South Korea’s leading company. We will export designs to the world fashion by evaluating investment opportunities together”.
Mentioning that they have been designing creations for the world’s distinguished brands for 20 years, Şentürk said; “With our experienced and expert human resources and production quality; we aim to steer fashion and become the leading manufacturing company in the denim and non-denim global textile industry”. Şentürk stated that the company has an annual production capacity of 2 million units in an integrated facility of 10 thousand square meters in total. Emphasizing that they continue their technology investments rapidly, Şentürk; “We have adopted a mission to reduce our carbon footprint and leave a cleaner and liveable world to future generations; with an understanding that supports the environment and sustainable life at every stage of production”.
Industrial giant of South Korea: Kolon
Established in 1957, Kolon Industries has an important place in the development of the South Korean economy. Kolon operates in four different sectors; industrial materials film and electronic materials industry, chemistry and textile. The share of the textile segment was announced as 1.2 billion dollars in the company; with an annual turnover of 10 billion dollars. Kolon also has chosen Turkey as a base for investment centre; with the goal of growth in European and African markets.
