- Printing News Sponsor -

Mimaki Eurasia, an expert in inkjet printing and cutting technologies, showed its market leading position at FESPA Eurasia 2019. Being the main sponsor of the show, taking place December 5-8, 2019 at IFM, Mimaki Eurasia exhibited with a 655 square meter booth making it the biggest participation in any show to date. Professionals and decision makers from the printing industry were able to find the solutions they are looking for regardless of the application or market segment at the Mimaki booth, which turned into the show’s trend area. Visitors had the opportunity to see the latest developments in printing, a wide range of applications as well as new trends in design.

Mimaki Eurasia booth was set up with a 4 islands concept in Hall 10, consisting of separate areas for textile and apparel, signage and industrial product groups. Arjen Evertse, General Manager of Mimaki Eurasia, stated that they had a busy yet successful meeting schedule while reaching serious sales figures during the show. Evertse; “We received a balanced number of visitors for all segments. Both the signed agreements and the preliminary negotiations show that we will get off to a flying start for 2020”.

Arjen Evertse said that Mimaki Eurasia’s main marketing strategy is ‘to eliminate the distance with users’. Evertse reminded that they had participated in Technology Promotion Tours and sectoral exhibitions in 2019, both with successful results. Evertse; “We have participated in FESPA Eurasia with the largest booth area ever in order to show our leading position in the digital printing industry. We presented our advanced solutions to sector stakeholders while strengthening our relations with them”.

(R)evolution in textile printing and unlimited design power with Mimaki Eurasia

The TS55-1800 sublimation transfer printer, symbolizing the (R)evolution in textile printing, printed the designs of Tessa Koops. Famous designer Koops joined the Mimaki Eurasia booth and provided information about her designs. Working with Mimaki since Heimtextil 2019, Tessa Koops emphasized that digital printing technologies are now a part of the design and fashion industry. Koops; “Participation in FESPA Eurasia 2019 is the fifth leg of our cooperation with Mimaki. Digital printing possibilities have enabled us to produce samples very quickly; significantly changing the way we designers work. I was surprised when I got the first results. We achieved results and quality that exceeded my expectations. The machines in the Mimaki showroom and what I can do with them really inspired me as a designer. Printing on more types and greener fabrics is gaining importance in the European market. Mimaki’s unlimited possibilities support us in this direction”.

Arjen Evertse reminded that printing should not be considered separately from the design. Evertse; “Our cooperation with Tessa Koops has been very successful. We are specialists in creating technology while she is a specialist in creating design. The merger of the two specialties brought results that will expand the market and open new doors. Our digital printing solutions provide added value to the industry with the benefits of unlimited design possibilities as well as sample production and lesser waste creation”.

Indoor printing quality for outdoor printing

Another solution that attracted great attention from the visitors was the SWJ-320EA solvent printer. With its print width and high print quality, this solution opens up new markets for its users both in outdoor and indoor printing applications. Mimaki Eurasia General Manager Arjen Evertse said; “With a print width of 320cm, the SWJ-320EA is ideal for signage manufacturers. It is a machine with the same price scale as its competitors but far beyond them with its indoor print quality. Clearly, in terms of print quality, it is the equivalent of Mimaki’s printers in the entry segment. Therefore ‘indoor printing quality at outdoor size’ motto exactly describes the SWJ-320EA”.

Mimaki Plus series expanded

Equipped with the latest generation technologies, Mimaki recently released its new Plus Series. Being a member of these new innovative range of machines, the CJV300-160 Plus print/cut machine was also exhibited at FESPA Eurasia 2019. With a maximum print/cut width of 1610mm, the CJV300-160 Plus caters to a wide range of areas from labels to posters, outdoor signs to backlit signs and fashion/apparel. This print/cut printer is currently available with a special launch promo, offering a 3-year warranty including print heads and a more affordable price.

Automation becomes reality in printing with Mimaki Eurasia

Mimaki Eurasia is also the first company in Turkey to realize automation in digital printing with robotic applications at an exhibition. Through the cooperation of ABB Türkiye and Mimaki Eurasia, a robotic arm operated in an integrated manner with the Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX UV LED flatbed printer. Arjen Evertse; “In the context of Industry 4.0, we have provided the first example of high automation with smarter solutions here. Our JFX200-2513 EX UV printer has an interface that communicates with the robot through commands. The printing material is released and removed from the table, and the print head carriage moves forward or backward in the process of robot’s approach to the table. This is done without any risk of errors. What makes automation possible here is the interface developed by Mimaki”.

Noting that automation is spreading rapidly through all markets and production processes, Evertse underlined the benefits that the digital printing industry will reap from this process. Evertse; “Take an example of a 3-shift business. Work intensity and operator tiredness can lead to carelessness and errors, resulting in a waste of production and time. No matter how busy the robot is, it does not lose its attention and keeps operating within the boundaries of the commands. Your business will proceed safely and you can plan your next jobs with confidence with the robot”.

More information about Mimaki’s advanced printing technologies is available on their official website.
