Biancalani shows the advantages of airflow finishing. Italy based Biancalani, one of the most important manufacturers of textile finishing technologies, presented four different solutions for woven and knitted fabrics at ITMA 2019 in Barcelona. Market-wide well known continuous tumbler dryer AIRO®24 for woven, nonwoven and knitted fabrics, and continuous relax dryer BRIO®24 for knitted fabrics alongside of newly launched continuous and open width washing machine AQUARIA® and continuous open width compact dryer AIRBOX took their place in the company booth.
Rossano Biancalani, General Manager of Biancalani in his interview with Textilegence, said that they were very pleased with the results of ITMA 2019 Barcelona. Stating that it is always difficult to meet high expectations, Biancalani said: “However, we have had a lot of visitors since the first day of the fair. We had long and fruitful meetings. We introduced our solutions with the slogan ‘Inspired by Nature’ and we listened to the demands of those who want to invest. We talked about the advantages of our airflow technology, which consists of natural elements, both on the environment and on production costs. It was clearly an extraordinary and very important ITMA, which pleased us”.
Rossano Biancalani explained that they have met visitors from Turkey, India, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh during the fair. And noted also that from the European region the Portuguese visitors were in majority, but several visitors were from England, Germany, France as well as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Biancalani shows the advantages of airflow finishing: AQUARIA® relies on airflow for transportation
Reminding that they have advanced models in fabric finishing, Rossano Biancalani said that they have significant experience in the field of fabric drying and washing for special finishing. Biancalani continued saying: “We now carry this expertise into the continuous washing process. The open width washing machine AQUARIA®, which we launched at ITMA, gives excellent results with its patented technology. In fact, AQUARIA®’s working principle is based on AIRO®24’s concept of applying real mechanical movement to the fabric only during air transport and washing. Biancalani brings new solutions with its experience and expertise in air transport to guarantee safe and error-free operation. AQUARIA® is the last example”.
Biancalani stressed that AQUARIA® is the ideal continuous washing solution for applications such as enzyme washing, peach skin, desizing and other special treatments. Biancalani provided information about the working method of this solution: “The AQUARIA® is made up of two large accumulation chambers, connected by a pneumatic ejector (the treatment channel), with impact grids at its ends. Fabric moves at high speed inside the channel, impacts against the grids, and is accumulated inside the chambers, where it lays immersed in the process bath. A continuous nebulisation of the process bath through sprayers keeps the fabric permanently and uniformly wet. All this makes the washing process extremely efficient.
Developments in AIRO®24 and BRIO®24 increase the efficiency
Rossano Biancalani declared that AIRO®24 is a continuous open width dryer for woven, nonwoven and knitted fabrics; and emphasized that the highest quality finishing style can be achieved. Describing this as the ‘AIRO® Style’, Biancalani announced that they have also made some minor improvements to AIRO®24. Biancalani: “Adjusting the height of the air ejector of the AIRO®24 is the most important improvement. The ejector in which the fabric is transported can be changed according to the thickness and weight of the fabric; it can be pulled up or down. This change is performed according to the volume to be treated. These improvements highly contribute to the productivity of textile manufacturers”.
Reminding that BRIO®24 was completely restructured before ITMA 2015; Rossano Biancalani said that a short model of the machine was exhibited this time at ITMA 2019. Biancalani said it has a modular structure and consists of five modules; “In BRIO®24 we have increased the oscillation capacity and the vibration of the tanks in which the knit fabric slides. There was also an increase in drying capacity”.
AIRO®24 sales are high, whilst the demand for the AIRBOX grows in the Turkish market
Describing AIRO®24 as their most preferred and known solution in the Turkish market, Rossano Biancalani; “We have sold a large number of versions of this machine in different widths. I think AIRO®24 will continue to be an important product for us and our customers”. Biancalani also underlined the great interest shown to the continuous compact open width dryer AIRBOX in the Turkish market. Biancalani continued as follows; “AIRBOX is a compact machine designed to function as a stand-alone unit; or integrated with other machines. The most important function of AIRBOX is that it is used as a pre-dryer; for example before AIRO®24, to significantly increase production capacity. This results in 30% or even 40% savings in production costs”.
