Developing yarn preparation and control technologies for weaving and knitting processes, BTSR will introduce their new technologies to the market at ITMA 2019 Barcelona. BTSR booth will become one of the popular places of the fair with their software productivity and quality-enhancing devices as well as software solutions related to Industry 4.0 and digitalization. We had a conversation with Claudio Marini, the sales and technical service representative of BTSR, about new products and market studies of the company developing yarn break sensors, quality control sensors, yarn feeding devices and software solutions.
Mr. Marini reminded that BTSR has 30 years of experience in the industry and stated that the company has extensive product portfolio and sales network all over the global market with intensive R&D efforts. Voicing that they are focused especially in Asia, the US and South American markets, Marini underlined that Turkey actually is a very important market in the European market for them.

Assessing market developments in Turkey, Claudio Marini said that last year went well for themselves, but the fluctuations in the exchange rates had negative repercussions on the market. Marini; “Several of our Turkish customers said they wanted to wait to invest because of this situation. Due to general economic uncertainty, they are a bit afraid of spending money by investing in new technology. However, during my visits to Turkey in February and April, I saw a demand for investment in carpets segment, especially in the Gaziantep region. Our customers in the carpet industry are more interested in upgrading the quality than in the past. With our advanced devices and sensors, this is our specialty.”
BTSR offers digital age possibilities in yarn control: %100 control with PC-LINK WEB Ⓟ-NEMO software
Claudio Marini noted that ITMA 2019 will host sustainability-oriented solutions this year and stated that BTSR will offer significant improvements in this regard as well. Announcing that the product/process management software PC-LINK WEB Ⓟ-NEMO will be presented at the fair, Marini said that control in textile process is important for both quality and efficiency. Marini continued saying; “With this software, the factory can be controlled 100%. Thus you can connect to each device in the factory and access them in all situations. We are talking about having 100% control in process and factory control. This increases production, quality and cost savings. Because this system is installed on a single server, you can control your factory wherever you are when you have a web connection.”
Disclosing that Turkish companies have recently begun to adopt the Industry 4.0 concept, Marini pointed out to the importance of companies being open-minded at this point. Marini; “This also is an investment issue. We tell them what digitalization and industry 4.0 will bring in quality and process control. We will inform more customers about this issue in the next year.”
Innovations in yarn tension control with Ultrafeeder 2
With over 200 officially registered patents, the latest link in BTSR’s renowned yarn feeder systems; Ulfrafeeder 2, offers significant innovations in yarn tension control. Claudio Marini explained that this device is equipped with new electronic components. Marini said; “When feeding the yarn, the resolution of the device provides more reaction time. There are 5 or 6 more reaction times than the previous version. Quality and feeding have been improved much more.”
Ultrafeeder 2 can be used for a wide variety of applications; production of socks, hosiery as well as knitwear production and large-scale machines, sewing machines, and more. This device can be used wherever a yarn needs to be fed according to Marini; and he described it as a user-friendly device with its design and ergonomic structure.
Rolling Feeder is a reliable solution in yarn feeding
The Rolling Feeder, which is part of the BTSR’s yarn feeding solutions, is ideal for circular seamless knitting machines. It combines in a single device the flexibility and user-friendliness of BTSR Constant Tension Feeding Technology with the yarn feeding at constant LFA/speed. Claudio Marini; “Thanks to the BTSR self-adaptive electronic technology; ROLLING FEEDER is in fact able to operate at constant tension yarn feeding during yarn ‘start/stop’ working phases; and to automatically switch to constant LFA/speed feeding during the garment production.”
Informing that BTSR will not limit itself to only Textiles in future with the solutions developed; Marini said that development of products began for two new sectors. Marini finished his words as follows; “However, our technologies in textile industry continue to evolve. We will introduce our new generation of sensors and the work they can do; at ITMA 2019 in Hall 8.1 Booth D207.”
