At the night where Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Union (ITHIB) organized with the theme of ‘Turkey’s Exporters Are Our National Power’, textile firms performing the most export in 2016 were awarded.
‘Special Award’ category took place for the first time this year at the event where important names from politics and business world attented to. On this category, Roja Brode Industry with 120 dollars export per kg, Kadifeteks Mensucar and YKK Metal performing export to the highest number of countries with 74 countries and AYT Kumaşçılık that performed export to a country where no export was made the previous year by exporting to Gabon in Africa, were presented their awards. The first of Platin Awards given to those who made 25 million dollar and above export, was Aksa Akrilik. The first of 10-25 million dolars export was İleri Giyim.
ITHIB President İsmail Gülle pointed out to the orientationtowards technical areas
Making a speech on the ceremony, ITHIB President İsmail Gülle pointed out the orientation of textile sector towards technical areas. He stated; “Textile sector will produce smart fabrics, fabrics weaved from carbon fiber which will be used in construction, and textile will take more place in automotives. For this, we will build more R&D centers. We have tripled the export value in the last 10 years, there is no obstacle for us to triple this once againg in the next 10 years. ”
Gülle underlined the fact that the sector still preserved its exportation in spite of the incidents that happened in 2016. Reminding Turkey’s 2023, 2050 and 2071 goals Gülle stated thusly; “We say that Turkey’s Exporters are National Power. Among all these goals, there are exporters. We are the foundation of the wealth of this country. ”
Attending to the event Turkey Exporters Association(TIM) President Mehment Büyükelçi pointed out that they announced 2017 as the breakthrough year trusting exporters. Büyükekşi said; “We increased export approximately 9% in the last 4 months. Our government had significant support on this raise. Green Passport has been brought to the agenda for 15 years. We have provided Green Passport to nearly 3 thousand exporters. We will give total 14 thousand green passports. We will do our best in order to save from middle income trap; raise 25 thousand dollars of income per capita in 2023. ”
At the ceremony, 41 firms received Platin Awards and 54 firms took Golden Awards. The first ten firms receiving Platin Awards are listed thusly; Aksa Akrilik, Ak-Pa Tekstil, Kordsa Global, Yünsa, Zorlu Dış Ticaret, ZorluTeks, Greif EPS Turkey, Kadifeteks, TEKS Tekstil ve Ormo Yün İplik.
