International Baby Kid Apparel and Accessories Fair İstanbul Kids Fashion welcomed more than expected global commercial purchasers and professional visitors on July 27-30. Attracting many local and international professional buyers on a commercial basis, the fair satisfied participants’ expectations. Spain, Germany, Ukraine and Turkey were among participants with 200 brands, while the fair welcomed over 3000 visitors from 61 countries. Most visitors were from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Palestine and Ukraine, which were followed by Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Greece and Lebanon.

It featured 2016 Autumn-Winter collections for ages 0-16 years in baby and kid fashion, while Maternity Wear & Accessories took place as a product group in addition to Baby Clothing, Children Clothing, Baby& Children Evening Dresses, Baby & Children Socks, Underwear and Accessories, Baby & Children Hometextile. Visitors’ profile was formed by Retail Baby, Kid and Maternity products, Baby and Kid Apparel, Shoe Stores, Mother and Maternity Apparel Stores, Store Chains, Department Stores as well as Importers-Exporters, Distributors, Agencies and wholesalers, Purchasing Offices and Trade Companies along with E-Commerce firms.

The fair welcomed severely professional commercial buyers particularly from Arabian Peninsula, Russia and Ukraine, stated the organizer UBM ICC General Manager Erdal Baykara. “We had visitors more than we expected in İstanbul Fashion Kids. We have serious buyers especially from Arabian countries, Russia and Ukraine. Thus, our exports potential is likely to rise,” he added.

Speaking at the fair, ASKON Chairman Mustafa Koca mentioned that the industry should benefit from technology and opportunities of 21th century and sectors as well as entrepreneurs should use their production power properly. Turkey is a logistic hub from where the half of the world could be travelled in 4 hours long flight in terms of geography, while industry companies can contribute to the economy via development by focusing on manufacturing and exports.
